These baked paleo pears have a honey glaze, dairy-free coconut milk yoghurt within, and a sweet pecan crumble on top. They make a fantastic pie substitute for enjoying fall.
Ingredients
- 4 ripe pears, halved and cored
- 1/4 cup chopped nuts (e.g., almonds, walnuts, or pecans)
- 2 tablespoons honey (or maple syrup for strict paleo)
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves (optional)
- 1 tablespoon coconut oil or ghee (for greasing the baking dish)
- Fresh berries and coconut yogurt for serving (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a baking dish with coconut oil or ghee.
- In a small bowl, mix together the chopped nuts, honey, ground cinnamon, ground nutmeg, and ground cloves (if using) to create a filling mixture.
- Place the halved and cored pears in the greased baking dish, cut side up.
- Spoon the nut and honey mixture into the center of each pear half, filling the cavities.
- Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 30-40 minutes, or until the pears are tender when pierced with a fork.
- Remove the foil during the last 10 minutes of baking to allow the tops of the pears to caramelize and brown slightly.
- Once done, remove the baked pears from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes.
- Serve the Paleo Baked Pears warm. You can garnish them with fresh berries and a dollop of coconut yogurt if desired.
