Vegan Dessert Pizza

Rocky road classic with a tasty vegan nutella twist! After baking, rich chocolate hazelnut spread is spread over tender sweet dough, and it is then topped with chocolate chips, toasted hazelnuts, and small marshmallows. The vegan marshmallows for a quick and delectable dessert pizza melt and toast after a few minutes under the grill!

Ingredients

  • pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1/2 cup dairy-free chocolate chips
  • 2 tablespoons coconut oil
  • 1/2 cup mini vegan marshmallows
  • 1/4 cup chopped nuts (e.g., almonds, walnuts, or pecans)
  • 2 tablespoons shredded coconut
  • 2 tablespoons dairy-free chocolate chips

Instructions

For the Pizza Dough:

  1. Preheat your oven according to the pizza dough package instructions or your homemade dough recipe.
  2. Roll out the pizza dough on a lightly floured surface into your desired pizza shape.
  3. Place the rolled-out dough onto a pizza stone or baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  4. Bake the pizza dough according to the package or recipe instructions until it’s golden brown and cooked through. Typically, this takes about 10-15 minutes at a high temperature (around 450°F or 232°C).
  5. Remove the baked pizza crust from the oven and let it cool while you prepare the toppings.

For the Chocolate Spread:

In a microwave-safe bowl or using a double boiler, melt the dairy-free chocolate chips and coconut oil together until smooth and well combined. Stir until there are no lumps.

For Assembling:

  1. Once the pizza crust has cooled slightly but is still warm, spread the melted chocolate mixture evenly over the crust, leaving a small border around the edges.
  2. Sprinkle the mini vegan marshmallows, chopped nuts, shredded coconut, and additional dairy-free chocolate chips over the chocolate spread.
  3. Return the pizza to the oven just long enough to melt the marshmallows and slightly toast them. This should only take 2-3 minutes, so watch it closely to avoid burning.
  4. Remove the Vegan Rocky Road Dessert Pizza from the oven, let it cool for a couple of minutes, then slice and serve.
