With only a few common ingredients, these quick vegan oat bars may be produced in just 30 minutes. They are naturally gluten-free and make a wonderful handmade treat, breakfast, or snack for the entire family.
Ingredients
- 2 cups rolled oats
- 1 cup mashed bananas (about 2 medium-sized bananas)
- 1/4 cup almond butter or any nut butter of your choice
- 1/4 cup maple syrup or any other liquid sweetener
- 1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- Optional add-ins: chopped nuts, dried fruits, chocolate chips, etc.
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking dish with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the rolled oats, mashed bananas, almond butter, maple syrup, applesauce, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and salt. Stir well to thoroughly combine.
- If desired, add any optional add-ins like chopped nuts, dried fruits, or chocolate chips. Mix until evenly distributed.
- Pour the mixture into the lined baking dish and spread it out evenly, pressing it down firmly.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the edges turn golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and allow the oat bars to cool completely in the baking dish.
- Once cooled, lift the bars out of the dish using the parchment paper and cut them into desired sizes.
- Store the oat bars in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days.
