Quinoa Burger

Veggie burgers that are mushy and flavourless are no more! This quinoa burger has the ideal amount of spice, acidity, and heartiness, as well as perfectly crisp edges.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup cooked quinoa
  • 1 can (15 oz) black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the cooked quinoa, black beans, bread crumbs, onion, garlic, cumin, paprika, salt, black pepper, cilantro, and egg. Mix well.
  2. Form the mixture into 6 patties.
  3. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  4. Cook the patties in the skillet for 3-4 minutes per side, or until golden brown and crispy.
  5. Serve the quinoa burgers on buns with your favorite toppings.
