Vegan Homemade Spoon Eggs

Interested in a quick and easy creme egg recipe? The Easy Peasy Creme Egg Chocolate Tart only just 5 ingredients, bakes in 10 minutes, and tastes incredible. The ideal sweet for Easter festivities.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup vegan chocolate chips or chopped dark chocolate (check for vegan labeling)
  • 1/4 cup coconut cream (the thick, creamy part from a can of full-fat coconut milk)
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup or agave nectar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Optional: crushed nuts, dried fruits, or other fillings of your choice

Instructions

  1. In a heatproof bowl, add the vegan chocolate chips or chopped dark chocolate.
  2. In a small saucepan, heat the coconut cream over low heat until it starts to simmer. Remove from heat.
  3. Pour the hot coconut cream over the chocolate and let it sit for a minute or two to melt the chocolate.
  4. Gently whisk the chocolate and coconut cream mixture until smooth and well combined.
  5. Stir in the maple syrup or agave nectar and vanilla extract until fully incorporated.
  6. Let the mixture cool to room temperature, then cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or until firm.
  7. Once chilled and firm, use a spoon or a small cookie scoop to shape the mixture into egg-shaped balls.
  8. If desired, create a small well in the center of each egg with your thumb or the back of a spoon.
  9. Fill the well with crushed nuts, dried fruits, or any other fillings of your choice.
  10. Place the filled eggs back in the refrigerator to set for another 30 minutes to 1 hour.
  11. Once set, remove from the refrigerator and serve your vegan homemade spoon eggs chilled.
