Grilled sausages are now available in a wide variety of vegan varieties. Nothing prevents the upcoming BBQ evening, so this is both very useful and lovely. In actuality, a lot of kinds contain soy, which many individuals find difficult to digest. As a result, we created a straightforward recipe for vegan seitan sausages that you can season and utilise whatever you wish.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup cooked lentils
  • 1/2 cup cooked quinoa
  • 1/2 cup oats
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 2 tablespoons nutritional yeast
  • 1 tablespoon ground flaxseed mixed with 3 tablespoons water (flax egg)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked lentils, cooked quinoa, oats, onion, garlic, tomato paste, nutritional yeast, flax egg, olive oil, smoked paprika, dried thyme, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper.
  2. Mix everything together until well combined. You can use your hands to help bind the mixture.
  3. Shape the mixture into sausage shapes. You can make them any size you prefer.
  4. Preheat your grill or grill pan over medium heat.
  5. Grease the grill grates or pan lightly with oil to prevent sticking.
  6. Place the sausages on the grill or grill pan and cook for about 5-7 minutes per side, or until they are nicely browned and heated through.
  7. Remove from the grill and serve immediately.
