Trying to find a new snack? Perhaps you’ve just discovered what you were looking for. These golden tempeh nuggets are the tastiest, crunchiest morsels that you can eat alone or as a tasty complement to your favourite dish for an extra dash of “yum.”
Ingredients:
- 8 oz. tempeh, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk
- 1 cup panko bread crumbs
- 1 tsp. smoked paprika
- 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp. onion powder
- 1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Cooking spray
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 425°F (218°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
- In a small bowl, mix together the smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour and almond milk until smooth.
- In a third bowl, add the panko bread crumbs.
- Dip each piece of tempeh first into the flour mixture, then into the almond milk mixture, and finally into the panko bread crumbs. Make sure each piece is coated well.
- Place the coated tempeh nuggets on the prepared baking sheet.
- Spray the tops of the nuggets with cooking spray.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes, until golden brown and crispy.
