Ingredients
- 2 cups raw sunflower seeds
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons nutritional yeast
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- Salt to taste
- Water (for desired consistency)
Instructions
- In a food processor or blender, add the sunflower seeds and blend until they form a coarse meal.
- Add the olive oil, lemon juice, nutritional yeast, minced garlic, and a pinch of salt. Blend again until well combined.
- Gradually add water, 1 tablespoon at a time, while blending, until you reach your desired consistency. The amount of water needed may vary.
- Taste and adjust the salt and lemon juice if necessary.
- Transfer the spread to a jar or airtight container and refrigerate for at least an hour to allow the flavors to meld together.
- Serve the sunflower seed spread on bread, crackers, or use it as a dip or spread in sandwiches and wraps.
