For the Corn Dogs
- 6 vegan hot dogs (plant-based sausages)
- 1 cup cornmeal
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup unsweetened plant-based milk (such as almond, soy, or oat milk)
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- Vegetable oil, for frying
- Wooden sticks or skewers

Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine the cornmeal, all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt. Mix well to ensure even distribution of ingredients.
- In a separate bowl, mix the plant-based milk and apple cider vinegar together. Let it sit for a couple of minutes to create a vegan buttermilk substitute.
- Add the plant-based milk and apple cider vinegar mixture to the dry ingredients, and mix until you have a smooth batter.
- Insert wooden sticks or skewers into the vegan hot dogs, leaving enough space for holding.
- In a tall pot or deep frying pan, pour vegetable oil to a depth of about 2 inches. Heat the oil over medium-high heat until it reaches about 350°F (175°C).
- Dip each vegan hot dog into the cornmeal batter, making sure to coat it evenly.
- Carefully place the battered vegan hot dogs into the hot oil, a few at a time. Fry them for about 3-4 minutes or until the corn dogs are golden brown and crispy. Use tongs or a slotted spoon to turn them for even cooking.
- Once cooked, remove the vegan corn dogs from the oil and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain any excess oil.
