Mushrooms, onions and walnuts make the ground “meat” used in these lettuce wraps. They are so tasty and so good-for-you!
Ingredients:
- 1 pound ground turkey
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
- 1 teaspoon ginger, minced
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 8 lettuce leaves (such as bibb or iceberg)
- 1/4 cup chopped green onions
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
- 1/4 cup chopped peanuts
Instructions:
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the garlic and cook for 30 seconds.
- Add the ground turkey to the skillet and cook until browned, breaking it up into small pieces with a wooden spoon.
- Add the soy sauce, hoisin sauce, ginger, salt, and black pepper to the skillet and stir to combine. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the flavors are well blended.
- To serve, spoon the turkey mixture onto lettuce leaves and top with chopped green onions, cilantro, and peanuts.
