Roasted Tuna Sandwich

Satisfy your nostalgic cravings with this classic Tuna Salad Sandwiches recipe. Crisp celery and chopped onion join fan-favorite tuna for a simple but hearty meal that’s ready in just 15.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cans of tuna, drained
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons dijon mustard
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh dill
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 slices of bread (sourdough or whole wheat work well)
  • 1/4 cup butter, softened
  • 4 slices of cheddar cheese
  • 4 slices of tomato
  • 4 slices of red onion

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix together the drained tuna, mayonnaise, dijon mustard, parsley, dill, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  3. Spread a thin layer of butter on each slice of bread.
  4. Place the bread on a baking sheet, and bake for 5-7 minutes or until the edges are lightly browned.
  5. Remove the bread from the oven, and place a slice of cheddar cheese on each slice.
  6. Return the bread to the oven, and bake for an additional 2-3 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  7. Remove the bread from the oven, and spread a generous amount of the tuna mixture on two of the slices.
  8. Add a slice of tomato and a slice of red onion on top of the tuna mixture.
  9. Place the remaining slices of bread on top to create a sandwich.
  10. Serve hot, and enjoy your delicious Roasted Tuna Sandwich!
